From the garden to the bottle, we prioritize quality and transparency in every step of our manufacturing process. We’ve partnered with some of the largest growers, manufacturers, and distributors of hemp-derived cannabinoids in the United States, which allows us to set an industry standard that puts your health at the forefront of our mission.
Quality farming is the backbone to any CBD product. Each Prima Terra Organics product starts out as one of our proprietary, high-CBD hemp strains grown in nutrient-rich U.S. soil using organic farming practices (check out our USDA Certified Organic products). We have a state-of-the-art farming process that uses strict guidelines to ensure our products are safe, all-natural, and consistently potent.
Raw Hemp Processing
Once our raw hemp plants are harvested from the farm, they are dried and stored at our warehouse. When it’s time to create a new batch of products, the plants are refined and milled into a coarse powder that’s ideal for oil extraction.
Supercritical CO2 Extraction
When it’s time to extract the plant compounds from the raw materials, we use a food-grade extraction process called supercritical CO2 extraction. This process requires no harsh chemical solvents like butane or hexane, leaving behind nothing but cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and fatty acids. This is key to our product’s broad-spectrum benefits that contribute to the entourage effect.
Once we’ve extracted what we need, the extract goes through another gentle refinement process that removes any plant solids and waxes, then separates everything from the CO2. The CO2 is then recycled for use in our next batch of hemp extraction.
We know the importance of a non-intoxicating CBD product for everyday consumption. We use proprietary technology to remove even the most minuscule traces of THC, the psychoactive compound found in hemp and cannabis plants. Once every unwanted substance has been removed from the extract, we wash and polish it for maximum purity before sending it off to the lab for testing.
Third-Party Lab Testing
Once our process is complete, we send it to a third-party lab for testing. Our labs test for the following:
- Microbial impurities such as yeast, mold, and e. coli.
Cannabinoid potency to verify that what it says on the bottle is exactly what’s in the bottle.
Heavy metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium.
60+ pesticides and herbicides.
Each product includes a QR code that links to both internal lab reports on the raw oil and third-party reports on the final product. Transparency is our top priority.
Our softgels go through one additional step to maximize absorption. This nanoemulsion process refines the oil into particles around 25 nanometers in size, which is considerably smaller than competitor oils that can range from 100 to 1000 nanometers in size. This allows you to consume smaller quantities of the product without sacrificing the effects and benefits.
